The Faculty Success Center enhances the educational mission of Samford University through professional development experiences that encourage excellence in teaching, scholarship and service.
Our Goals
- Promote evidence-based activities that help faculty improve student learning, engagement, and success
- Initiate and sustain a collegial conversation about all aspects of teaching service, scholarship, and learning at Samford
- Foster a culture of reflective practice that values quality, innovation, and inclusiveness in teaching
- Cultivate an institutional climate that values and supports teaching and learning
- Develop and support faculty through all stages of their academic careers
Welcome to Samford University’s Faculty Success Center! We are located on the 4th floor of Dwight M. Beeson Hall (DBH) and extend an invitation to all faculty to come experience this unique space created for their professional development and well-being.
The FSC grew out of the Faculty Success Collaborative, a formal advisory committee convened by the provost with representative Faculty Ambassadors from each of Samford’s academic units. The Collaborative’s Faculty Ambassadors continue to serve as an advisory committee for the FSC to identify and coordinate faculty development opportunities.
