Strategic Enrollment Planning
SEP assists the university in identifying the constellation of programs that ensure our healthy status well into the future and that drives the growth needed to sustain our mission, students, employees, campus, and reputation.
Over the past 18 months, faculty, staff and administrators from across Samford have worked together in a Strategic Enrollment Planning (SEP) process to identify, develop, and refine curricular, co-curricular, recruitment and student success strategies, designed to help the University achieve our enrollment goals. These strategies spanned all student types: undergraduate, graduate, professional and executive education. Following this deliberative process, the SEP Steering Committee proposed 13 strategies to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) for institutional support. The ELT approved all 13 strategies (listed below), and each is now moving into the implementation phase. We are excited to see the SEP process bringing support to systems that are already in position.
Over the last few weeks, each strategy leader met with the SEP co-chairs to discuss the next steps of our process, and over the next few years, we will continue to implement, evaluate and modify (when necessary) each strategy. The SEP process is continuous and dynamic, and innovative ideas, programs and initiatives are welcomed. A newly formed Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) Standing Committee will manage the process moving forward. This committee will help shepherd new enrollment ideas, while supporting existing steps in the innovation process. This process is meant to complement and not replace standing governance processes to approve new degree programs and curricula.
