Sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Intercultural Initiatives, Samford will host weeklong programming for Lead with Love Feb. 9-14.
The campus-wide event will gather students, faculty, staff and alumni throughout the Samford community to celebrate a shared commitment to leading with love in all that we do.
“Through Lead with Love, we will highlight the opportunities we all have to show love and kindness to those with whom we interact, despite any perceived differences,” Denise Gregory, Assistant Provost for Diversity and Intercultural Initiatives, said.
The programming was developed in collaboration with schools and departments across campus and will begin with a candlelight service led by University President Andrew Westmoreland and First Lady Jeanna Westmoreland.
The week offers opportunities for purposeful conversation on nurturing a diverse and inclusive culture on campus. Key events include the Defamation Experience, an interactive courtroom exercise, a discussion on systemic racism, a poverty simulation and a seminar on non-invasive ways to take care of those in need.
