Brooke McKinney joins Samford University as an instructional designer, bringing a wealth of experience from her teaching career in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a teacher lead, she played a pivotal role in curriculum writing and collaborating with her team to develop engaging and effective lessons tailored to diverse learning needs. In her capacity as technology lead, Brooke was instrumental in guiding staff on the effective use of the learning management system, facilitating the transition to flipped classroom models that enhanced student engagement. She has conducted educator workshops on gamification and on the integration and responsible use of AI into the classroom. In addition to her classroom work, Brooke has a passion for digital citizenship, having community workshops for families to navigate the digital landscape responsibly. In her free time, she enjoys painting, writing, and exploring nature.
