Staff Sergeant JR B. Henry is the  Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge of  Administrative Actions of Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 012 at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. His responsibilities include managing personnel and student records for 6 Cadre members, 10 Air Force Institute of Technology and Nursing Enlisted Commissioning Program students, and 70 cadets. He also provides administrative management for the unit fitness program, technical equipment, financial oversight for enlisted nurses, cadets' tuition and scholarships, and trusted agent services. He develops and shapes the future leaders of the United States Air Force while instilling good order and discipline in all cadets within the ROTC program.

Staff Sergeant Henry enlisted as an Administrative  Apprentice in January 2019. Upon completion of technical training, he was the Postmaster-Mail Controller and Executive Administrative Assistant in Thule, Greenland, and Wing Executive Administrative Support in Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
