Hispanic Heritage Month falls between September 15 and October 15 each year. To celebrate the 2024 commemoration, Samford University’s Office of Student Success and Diversity, and a variety of student groups on campus, will offer several opportunities for students, faculty and community engagement.

Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Join us for a vibrant celebration of Hispanic heritage with food, fellowship, and an inspiring presentation by our guest speaker, Jorge Burmicky. This event is a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and honor the rich cultural traditions that make our community diverse and dynamic.

With events like Fiesta Bham, Alabama's largest Hispanic celebration, and special lunch and learns, Hispanic Heritage Month in Birmingham will be a time for appreciation and recognition of our valued community. Students and faculty are encouraged to shop at Mi Pueblo for authentic Latin cuisine and to donate to ¡HICA!, a community development and advocacy organization that champions economic equality, civic engagement and social justice for Latino families in Alabama.
