This year's World Christianity Focus Week speaker is Mohammad Sanavi.
Mohammad Sanavi was born into a devout Muslim family in Iran. When he was in his last year of high school, trying to prove that other religions were false and only Islam was the true way, Mohammad requested a Bible from a Christian radio station based outside the country. After receiving a portion of the Gospel, he read it over and over trying to find faults within it. Instead, he found the error in his own heart and fell in love with the character of Christ. Over the next year and a half, after learning more about Jesus and the Christian faith, he repented of his sin and accepted Him as his Savior. From that time, Mohammad started to travel within his home city, then throughout Iran sharing the Good News of Christ with Muslims. After being forced to leave his country, he continued to minister among Muslims as a tentmaker for almost fifteen years. He has served among Muslims and Muslim converts throughout the Middle East, preaching and teaching for over thirty years.
Mohammad received his Masters of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School in 2004. He is the founder and teacher of the Bible Training Center for Persians, which offers Farsi-speaking pastors and church leaders theological training and further equips them for ministry. He also works to provide literature and media resources that will serve as tools to help the pastors and leaders in their perspective areas of service. Mohammad has been the author, translator or editor of over sixty books, including Stories of the Good Shepherd, the 9Marks series What Is a Healthy Church?, Don't Waste Your Life, and Truth for Life. Because his journey to faith began through a media ministry, media has a special place in his heart.
