During his second year, Bill Mouchette (’23) began to explore career paths in economics with his professor, Dr. Jeremy Thornton, Associate Dean at the Brock School of Business. Through a tailored independent study and wide-ranging conversations, Bill gained insights into how economics supports communities, leading him to groundbreaking research. His work earned him a prestigious grant from the American Enterprise Institute’s Young Scholar Awards Program—one of only six nationwide in 2022.
Now a business development analyst, Bill continues the mission he started at Samford: promoting success with confidence and faith.

That’s why we’ve invested $65 million to build our Campus Recreation, Wellness and Athletic Complex.
