This effort aligns with Samford’s broader sustainability initiatives, including designation as a “Tree Campus Higher Education” by the Arbor Day Foundation and partnering with Homewood on its Green Skies Initiative. In addition, a major component in Samford’s $30 million infrastructure modernization project with Johnson Controls includes a new chilled water plant that consumes 40% less energy.
