Dr. Megan Mileski, PhD, RN, is an Associate Professor in the Moffett and Sanders School of Nursing, where she plays a pivotal role in undergraduate education. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, coupled with a Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Samford University. Dr. Mileski's commitment to advancing nursing knowledge is underscored by her certifications in Mixed Methods Research and as a "Friday Night at the ER" Facilitator. She is an expert in Obstetric Nursing, particularly in labor and delivery, antepartum care, and prenatal education. Beyond clinical expertise, Dr. Mileski excels in preparing new graduate nurses for the transition to professional nursing practice. Her research endeavors focus on critical issues such as maternal and infant mortality, with a particular emphasis on disparities within the African American population. Dr. Mileski is a distinguished member of several professional organizations including the National and Alabama Leagues for Nursing and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) where she has held various leadership roles. She also serves the Samford campus community as an advisor for Chi Omega sorority and active participation in the Office of Greek Life.
