Matt Woodham, assistant professor and interim director of advocacy, wrote the annual update for the Trial Handbook for Alabama Lawyers, Third Edition (Alabama Practice Series). He will also write the update for the 2024 version.
The handbook covers procedural and substantive rules governing trial preparation, trial advocacy techniques and post-judgment practice in criminal and civil law. The update includes noteworthy changes in Alabama and United States Supreme Court caselaw regarding the Rules of Evidence, Criminal and Civil Procedure and post-judgment motions practice. The 2023 edition also includes an additional chapter by Woodham on the Alabama Voluntary and Presumptive Sentencing Guidelines.
