What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?
The community! Everyone wants you to succeed at Cumberland, and that is evident from day one.
Why did you choose Cumberland?
I chose Cumberland because of its students and staff as well as its proximity to Birmingham and family nearby. Cumberland was an obvious choice from the day I toured.
What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?
Birmingham is a phenomenal city to be in as a law student. There are so many restaurants to try and places to go to that I haven't gotten to them all yet. Birmingham has an extremely strong legal job market, and there are a lot of Cumberland attorneys in the area who are always willing to reach out and help. One of my favorite Birmingham activities is to go play pickleball at City Walk right near Protective Stadium.
If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?
Always do the readings from day one until the last day of class. Not only will this help you understand how to think like a lawyer, but it will also improve your writing skills dramatically.
What do you plan to do after graduation?
I plan on practicing personal injury law in the Birmingham area.
