What do you think is the BEST thing about Cumberland?

I believe the best thing about Cumberland is its faculty and the variety of programs and opportunities it offers its students. At Cumberland, there is a community within its larger community just for you—no matter your interests or career goals.

Why did you choose Cumberland?

I chose Cumberland School of Law because of the vibrant and hospitable community it offers its students. When I visited campus as a prospective student, it was evident that the people at Cumberland truly cared about every individual who walked through the doors. No question or concern went unanswered, and the kindness from students and faculty was felt during each visit. Samford University also holds a special place in my heart because my father was a professor in the religious studies department, and my younger brother is an alumnus of Samford University and a former student-athlete on the Samford University football team.

What do you most enjoy about studying law in Birmingham? What do you like to do in Birmingham?

I love that Birmingham offers a myriad of legal opportunities for law students and the legal profession. I also enjoy the food scene in Birmingham; there are numerous dining options and places to hang out with classmates and friends, whether it’s downtown Birmingham or a nearby Homewood restaurant. Additionally, I love golfing and visiting several bookstores in town.

If you could give any advice to your pre-law school self, what would you say?

If I could give any advice to my pre-law school self, it would be to relax, stay focused, and make self-care a top priority.

What do you plan to do after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to practice civil rights and family law in the South and eventually start my own practice in these areas.
