The Cumberland Connection Legal Immersion Program (CCP) aims to motivate and inspire first generation students, and/or those who have overcome significant obstacles, to pursue a career in law.
Join us May 19-23, 2025 for a week of law school at Cumberland School of Law! You will take courses that provide a glimpse into what law school is all about and you will gain substantive insights into various legal subjects. Real course work and advocacy skills will be taught by Cumberland law professors. Lunchtime talks will include local lawyers and other professionals in the region who will share inspirational stories of how a legal career has changed their lives.
This crash course in law and legal education will be a springboard for students who ultimately decide to go to law school, giving them a distinct advantage over their peers since they will have already experienced the law school environment.
In addition to the course work and practical application, you will have the opportunity to participate in evening social events such as dinners, minor league baseball games, law-related movies, and other fun activities.
Students meeting the program requirements listed above are encouraged to apply for the Cumberland Connection Legal Immersion Program. In addition to gathering your background information and other details, the online application requests the following items:
The deadline for a completed application is Feb. 1, 2025. Applicants selected for the program will learn of their acceptance by March 1, 2025. If selected, you will receive an email to the primary email address listed in your application as well as a letter to your permanent street address sharing the news of your acceptance. You must return this letter, signed, by April 1, 2025, to secure a seat in the program.
