Ninety-eight percent of first year students received merit-based scholarships
Free Bar Prep
Cumberland covers bar preparation courses for each student (up to a $3,800 value)
Trial Advocacy
Cumberland’s trial advocacy program is consistently ranked as one of the top advocacy programs in the country.
We teach students the art and science of advocacy and train aspiring lawyers to think strategically and tactically, in and out of the courtroom. Our program produces practice-ready lawyers who are ethical and effective advocates, who excel in representing their clients, and who make substantial and important contributions to their communities.
Public Interest
Service to others is at the heart of a Cumberland education.
Through Cumberland’s Public Interest Program, students have the opportunity to experience legal and non-legal activities such as researching legal issues for residents in a local homeless shelter, serving at free wills clinics, or building Habitat for Humanity homes. Cumberland students, and alumni, consistently demonstrate their understanding of how important it is for lawyers to serve others with pro bono and public interest work.
Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. The deadline to apply for fall 2022 is May 1.
