On Friday, April 14, Samford University’s Brock School of Business held its 59th annual Scholarships and Awards Ceremony. During the event, more than $230,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving business students to apply to tuition for the 2023-24 academic year, and four faculty members received awards for excellence in teaching, research and scholarship, and service.
Brock Scholar David Sputh, from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who is majoring in economics and philosophy, was awarded the Junior Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, among other scholarships. This award is presented each year to the Brock School of Business junior with the highest grade point average.
Also included in the awards were scholarships that support students in our newest academic program, the Risk Management and Insurance concentration. Those scholarships are the Bonnie Elliott Risk Management & Insurance Scholarship, the Malcom and Betty Miller Scholarship in Risk Management and Insurance, Merrill Henry Cook Risk Management & Insurance Scholarship, the CRC Group Scholarship, the Globe Life and Accident Insurance Scholarship and the RIMS Alabama Chapter Scholarship.
