Samford is excited to welcome David Wilhite, an accomplished scholar and theologian, to campus on Tuesday, Feb. 25, for a day of thought-provoking lectures and discussions.

Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Wilhite has served in pastoral roles in Birmingham and is a frequent preacher, speaker and interim pastor. After earning his degree from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and teaching at Seattle Pacific University, he joined Truett Theological Seminary in 2007 where he focuses on early Christian studies and historical theology. Wilhite has authored six books, over 40 articles and numerous essays, with a particular emphasis on ancient African Christianity and early Christian theology. He is currently co-authoring a three-volume work exploring early Christology including how early Christians understood Jesus’ pre-existence and identity as “LORD.”
