Gisoon Park was born in Sokcho City, South Korea. She has a B.A. and M.A in Politics from Dankook University in Seoul as well as an M.A in Korean as a Foreign Language from Andong National University. She served as an associate professor in the Department of Nursing at Andong Science College in South Korea. She also ran a private English Academy with her husband for twelve years in Andong City where they focused on preparing students for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC). Gisoon and her husband left South Korea in 2018 and now live in Birmingham. She has her own YouTube channel, Language Factory, dedicated to teaching Korean to English speakers.
