Resource Center for Pastoral Excellence
The challenges and demands of pastoral work are constant and constantly changing. Even good ministers are stretched and stressed in this context. Focus becomes blurred. Energy wanes. Creativity ceases. Rather than ministry from an overflow, a deep longing for a renewing is realized – a longing for the Source that gives meaning, hope and purpose to life and ministry.
The mission of the RCPE is to create opportunities for pastoral enrichment that re-Source ministers, helping them maintain their effectiveness. The center serves clergy of any denomination, both men and women, regardless of race or age.

Seven-Volume Limited Edition Resides at the Samford University Library
The University Library invites you to attend a presentation on and a viewing of The Saint John’s Bible Heritage Edition. The limited edition will be on view at a reception and presentation on Friday, April 11th, 2014 at 6:00 pm in the University Library. Mr.Tim Ternes, Director, The Saint John’s Bible, Hill Museum and Manuscript Library will be presenting, “From Inspiration to Illumination, an Introduction to The Saint John’s Bible.
The Saint John's Bible is the only handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine Monastery since the advent of the printing press more than 500 years ago. The Heritage Edition is a work of art in itself, a fine art reproduction of the original manuscript. Only 299 sets of the Heritage Edition were created and Samford University is the only location in the state to own a set. “The Heritage Edition provides an accessible link to the original artwork for those who wish to bring its beauty, spiritual and historic significance into their lives and the lives of others,” said Eric Hollas, OSB, senior associate for Arts & Cultural Affairs, Saint John’s University.
