Samford University

Our Story

Indeed, her family members inspire us during these days as the love of Christ is transparent in their interactions with those who would console and seek to be consoled. Trevelyn’s creativity, intellect and kindness drew the campus to her. In a brief memorial service in Reid Chapel last night, Larry Thompson, the gentle giant from our School of the Arts, spoke with eloquence when he began his remarks by saying, “I don’t have any kids, so my students are family. I lost a child this weekend.” In a time not too distant, we will see her again.

Rest in peace, Trevelyn.  The world is better because you lived among us for 19 years.

Our Mission
