The Eisenhower Dance Ensemble will take the stage of the Leslie Stephen Wright Center at 8 p.m. Nov. 16 as the first event in the 2012-13 "Wright Center Presents" performance series.
Single performance tickets for the dance ensemble range from $15-$40. Series season tickets also are still available.
Touring throughout the country, this renowned dance ensemble will perform its original work titled NewDANCEfest, a collection of dances composed by five respected choreographers.
Jaime Davidson, Wright Center assistant director, said the ensemble was chosen to be a part of the series because of its wonderful artistry.
"Eisenhower Dance is a fantastically skilled company that performs with grace and energy. They are a well-established, highly regarded dance company, and we want to present artists at the top of their fields," Davidson said.
In the week leading up to the ensemble's performance, dance students from Samford and the Children's Dance Foundation will have the opportunity to study with the dance ensemble as a part of its residency. Students will then perform with the ensemble during its Friday performance.
Other events scheduled in the Wright Center Presents series are veteran actor Ed Asner as FDR Jan. 28; An Evening with Garrison Keillor, March 25; and Neil Berg's "100 Years of Broadway," April 16.
