Students from Birmingham, Cullman Win 2012 Governor's School Honors
Brannum Forsyth of Birmingham and Megan Walker of Cullman were named outstanding male and female students at 2012 Alabama Governor's School. The 25th anniversary session of the two-week honors program for rising high school seniors ended Friday, June 29, at Samford University.
Forsyth and Walker were chosen by AGS students, faculty and staff on the basis of their participation and overall interest shown during the session. They were among 80 participants from high schools in 27 counties.
Forsyth, a student at Spain Park High School, is the son of Peggy and Stephen Forsyth.
Walker, a student at Fairview High School, is the daughter of Bonnie Walker and Randy Wood.
AGS participants received college level experience in academics, creativity and leadership.
