Former Educator Paul Corts To Address Samford Commencement Dec. 13
Former educator Paul R. Corts of Washington, D.C., will deliver the Commencement address at Samford University Saturday, Dec. 13. Corts is former president of Palm Beach Atlantic and Wingate universities and serves currently as assistant attorney general for administration of the United States. He is the brother of Samford President Thomas E. Corts.
Samford will confer degrees on some 250 seniors during 10 a.m. Commencement exercises in Wright Center on the campus.
Dr. Paul Corts was president of Palm Beach Atlantic for 11 years prior to assuming his current post with the Justice Department in 2002. He was president of Wingate for eight years and held administrative and teaching positions at Oklahoma Baptist and Western Kentucky universities previously.
Samford President and Mrs. Thomas Corts will host a reception for seniors, their families and Samford faculty and staff immediately following Commencement in Beeson University Center. Other Commencement Day activities will include hooding of School of Business Master of Business Administration graduates at 8 a.m. in Dwight Beeson Hall and commissioning of Air Force ROTC graduates at 4 p.m. in Hodges Chapel.
