Samford University has named Don M. Mott, former director of the Physical Plant
Department at Mississippi State University, to the new position of Vice President
for Facilities.
Mott, a veteran of 34 years at Mississippi State, joined Samford in July. He
has the top responsibility for buildings and grounds.
At MSU, Mott was responsible for the operation and maintenance programs and
capital construction projects for the campus in Starkville. He served as a utility
engineer and assistant director before becoming physical plant director.
Mott is a registered engineer in Mississippi and Alabama. He has served on
various facilities, safety and engineering boards and committees.
The new vice president holds bachelor's degrees in mathematics and electrical
engineering and an M.B.A. from Mississippi State.
