Genealogy students from 10 states and Canada are researching family ancestry
in England as part of Samford University's British Institute of Genealogy and
Historical Research.
Genealogist Sherry Irvine, a specialist in English and Scottish family history,
is study leader. The group of 15 students and Samford library director Jean
Thomason left June 30 for the three-week session in London and York.
The students are using the Kensington Library, Family Record Centre, Guildhall
Library, Kew Public record Office, British Newspaper Library and other resources
in London and the City Archives, Minster Library, Central Library and Borthwick
Institute in York.
