Samford To Graduate About 250 in Fall Commencement Dec. 14

Samford University will graduate approximately 250 seniors during fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 14, at 10 a.m. in Wright Center on the campus.Commencement

Tim Vines, chief administrative officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, will speak.  Mr. Vines has been a member of the Samford board of trustees since 2011.  With Blue Cross for 19 years, he has served as a vice president in several areas.  He holds a degree in finance from Auburn University.

Beeson Divinity School will hold its commencement and service of consecration on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. in Hodges Chapel.  Dr. J. Bradley Creed, Samford's provost and executive vice president, will be the speaker.

Other commencement activities will include:

* Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing Pinning Ceremony, Friday, Dec. 13, Shades Mountain Baptist Church, 10 a.m.

* Air Force ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, Hodges Chapel, Friday, Dec. 13, 2 p.m.

* Brock School of Business Hooding Ceremony, Brock Forum, Saturday, Dec. 14, 8 a.m.

* Graduating Senior Art Show Reception, Art Gallery, Saturday, Dec. 14, following commencement
