Samford University alumni will have ample opportunities to reunite with friends and classmates during 2013 Homecoming weekend November 15 and 16.
From the popular all-alumni banquet to affinity-group tailgate reunions on the quad and formal events off-campus, there will be many ways to connect. And that doesn't include the happy serendipity of running into a long-lost pal along the Homecoming parade route.
Here, a line-up of planned reunion options:
Friday, Nov. 15
11:30 a.m. Golden Bulldog Luncheon for graduates from 50 or more years ago. $20 per person. Reservations required by Nov. 6.
6:30 p.m. Banquet honoring the Alumni of the Year and Outstanding Young Alumnus. $30 per person. Reservations required by Nov. 6.
8:30 p.m. Class of 1998 Reunion Party, Superior Grill, Highway 280.
Saturday, Nov. 16
11:30 a.m. Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing barbecue and family fun time, Center for the Healing Arts.
12 p.m. Tailgate reunions on the quad for classes of 1983, 1988, 1998 and 2008; pharmacy classes of 1998, 2003 and 2008; schools of the arts, arts and sciences, business and education; Greek organizations Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Chi Omega and Sigma Epsilon; the University Fellows Program and Samford After Sundown. Most reunion groups require payment for lunch. Reservations are encouraged.
Class of 1963 50th Anniversary Luncheon, Wright Center Stage. $25 per person. Reservations required by Nov. 6.
6 p.m. Class of 1988 Reunion Party, Cocina Superior, Brookwood Mall.
6:30 p.m. Chi Omega Zeta Zeta chapter 50th Anniversary Gala, The Club.
7 p.m. Alpha Omicron Pi Red Rose Ball, B & A Warehouse.
Three sororities will host an open house on Saturday: Alpha Omicron Pi at 9:30 a.m., Chi Omega at 11:30 a.m. and Alpha Delta Pi at 1 p.m.
