Rich Yamarone, a senior economist for Bloomberg daily financial news, will speak at Samford University's Brock School of Business Thursday, May 9, at 10 a.m. in Brock Forum. He will discuss "What Are the Economic Tea Leaves Saying about the Outlook" based on his more than 20 years of experience with Bloomberg.
Focused on the topics of monetary and fiscal policy, economic indicators, fixed income, commodities and general macroeconomic conditions, Yamarone has been a major contributor to Bloomberg Briefs: Economics, a daily newspaper that features analysis, data and news that shapes the world's economy.
He is known for creating Bloomberg Orange Book, a compilation of macroeconomic anecdotes gleaned from comments CEOS and CFOs have made on quarterly earning conference calls.
He will talk about his in-depth analysis of macroeconomic data, policy and tends and explain how they will impact financial markets.
Yamarone is the final speaker in this year's Economic Lecture Series. Previous speakers have included Dr. Claudia R. Williamson from Mississippi State University and Dr. Andrew Young from West Virginia University.
