Family Studies Departmental Scholarships

The following department scholarships are available for current majors. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis through an application process during the Spring semester.

Academic Scholar Award

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 is required 
• Awarded to three (3) students
• Evidence of service and potential contribution to the department, campus, and community

Alumni and Newsletter Assistant

• Minimum cumulative GPA 3.5
• Awarded to one (1) student
• Student will set up and coordinate an alumni database and begin a biannual newsletter
• Student will work approximately 4 hours each week per semester

Research Assistant

• Excellent experience for graduate school applications
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 is required 
• Awarded to three (3) students 
• These students will assist FAMS faculty with academic research and course management – approximately 4 hours each per week each semester 
• Evidence of service and potential contribution to the department, campus, and community

Need-Based (limited number available)

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required 
• Evidence of financial need 
• Evidence of service and potential contribution to the department, campus, and community
