Students are eligible for a number of endowed scholarships once they have completed 1 full semester at Samford and attained a 3.0 overall GPA.These scholarships are awarded in the latter part of each Spring semester.Applications are sent to all undergraduate business students at the start of the Spring term.

For the 2012-2013 academic year, the Brock School of Business awarded more than $110,000 in scholarships.  Below is a sample-list of scholarships given to our students:

Alton P. Barr Scholarship - In 1989, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Alton P. Barr created a scholarship fund in honor of their parents, both of whom attended Howard College (now Samford University). Mr. Barr also served as a trustee of Howard College. The awards committee selects recipients who have strong academic credentials and professional promise.

James C. Lee, Jr. Scholarship - Buffalo Rock established this scholarship to be awarded annually in honor of James C. Lee, Jr. The scholarship is awarded to currently enrolled students in the School of Business.

Cook's Pest Control Scholarship - This gift was given to the School of Business to assist four deserving students. These students will be chosen by the committee not only for their academic excellence but their contributions in the classroom and potential for success in the business world.

Hovater Family Scholarship - This scholarship was established by Rod and Paula Hovater who are both Samford graduates as well as their son, Russell. It is their desire to assist deserving students who are excelling in the classroom and hold great promise for the future.

Mary Ann Hocutt Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship was funded by the School of Business faculty and staff and friends and family of Dr. Mary Ann Hocutt as a memorial of her service to Samford University. Dr. Hocutt was a popular teacher and respected colleague in the marketing faculty of the School of Business until her death in 2004.
