    What is Samford’s Big Give?

Samford’s Big Give is a 36-hour fundraising event, also known as crowdfunding, that is powered by email, social media and online giving. It provides alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff of the university an opportunity to make a gift to their favorite Samford school, program or scholarship.

This year, Samford’s Big Give is featuring 12 projects in need of support: one for each school or college, and athletics.

    When is Samford’s Big Give?

The second annual Big Give begins at 9:00a.m. on Thursday, June 12 and concludes at 9:00p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2014.

Why should I participate in Samford’s Big Give?

From improving classrooms across campus, impacting international missions and funding scholarships to empowering students through professional development opportunities, giving though the Big Give is an easy, fun, exciting way to make an impact at Samford!

By participating in Samford’s Big Give, you can:

    • Demonstrate how members of the Samford family come together to make BIG things happen in a short amount of time.
    • Preserve, and even enhance, the experience you had at Samford and ensure it is available for many years to come.
    • Make sure the value of your degree increases over time; as Samford becomes more well-known and respected, so too does your degree.

Additionally, when you share your Big Give participation on social media, you raise awareness and influence others to join you in support of Samford’s Big Give.

How do I make my gift?

You can make your gift easily and securely via credit or debit card at www.samford.edu/giving. Credit and debit card gifts can also be made over the phone by calling the Office of University Advancement at 1-877-SU-ALUMS or 205-726-2807.

If you prefer to donate via cash or check, gifts may be delivered in person to the 3rd Floor of Samford Hall between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 4:30p.m.

Can I send my gift by U.S. Mail?

Due to the short time frame of this campaign, only gifts made online, over the phone or in person will be counted toward the Big Give.

If you prefer to give via U.S. Mail, you may still send a donation to support the project of your choice. While your gift will still play an important role in helping Samford meet our overall fundraising goals, it will not count toward the total dollars raised as part of the Big Give.

Can I choose what my gift supports?

Yes! This year, Samford’s Big Give is featuring 12 projects in need of support: one for each school or college and athletics. Projects range from improving classrooms across campus, impacting international missions, funding scholarships and empowering students through professional development opportunities. Learn more about each project.

If you would like to support an initiative other than one of the featured projects, simply list the name of the school, program or scholarship in the textbox labeled “Other” on the online giving form
