Students must demonstrate proficiency in the English language to be considered for regularundergraduate admission. To see a full list of requirements for undergraduate admission and see below:

Samford has an online application and also accepts the Common Application for your convenience. Students will receive the same consideration regardless of which method they choose. The application fee is $40.

The essay should be a 250 word minimum (1 to 2 pages preferred) and the topic is YOU!

Samford requires that students display English proficiency through either the
TOEFL iBT
or
IELTS
test.

Please contact the testing agency to have your ACT and/or SAT scores sent directly to Samford. Samford’s Code: ACT: 0016 SAT: 1302 (Student may request waiver)

Samford requires translated and notarized official high school transcripts to be sent directly from your school. (Note: Samford will accept transcripts electronically via E-script and Docufide.)

Samford requires one academic letter of recommendation. An academic recommendation is one from a guidance counselor or a teacher.

Students who have attended high schools outside of the United States must submit their transcripts to
WES
or
AACRAO
to receive an official evaluation. (student may request waiver)

In order for Samford to produce the I-20 necessary for students to come and study in America we must have Official Government documentation (Passport, Visa) and financial support documents (Bank Statement).
International transfers
Students interested in transferring credits from any accredited college or university world-wide are encouraged to apply.

ESL Program
For students who wish to study English as a second language before entering a degree seeking program at Samford University.

Applications will be evaluated on a case by case basis taking the student's academic criteria into consideration. Students accepted to Samford's ESL program will register for the English Language Learner Institute (ELLI). Upon successful completion of ELLI, students will be offered the opportunity to enter a degree seeking program at Samford University.
